A humorous series of graphic animations put an unconventional spin on show packaging for “Pardon the Interruption," a sports debate show on ESPN. Opposition and interruption serve as a platform for a show open and segment title bumpers that provide a counterpoint to the lively debates occurring within the show.

The National Spelling Bee is the nation's largest and longest-running educational contest. For the 13th straight year, ESPN presented live coverage of the Bee, and for the first time in its 79-year history, the Bee went live on ABC prime time with the championship rounds. It was also broadcast for the first time in high definition with 5.1-channel surround sound. PMcD designed and animated all the show packaging for ESPN and ABC, including a show open, transitions, rejoins, stingers, animated backgrounds, billboards, bumps, split screens, and inset graphics.
